Hitachi Cable America Inc., holds membership with the HDBaseT Alliance
Manchester, NH, September 22, 2014
Hitachi Cable America Inc., (HCA), is pleased to announce our membership with the HDBaseT Alliance. The HDBaseT Alliance was founded in 2010 by LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Valens to encourage and structure HDBaseT technology for home and commercial properties that use high definition (HD) multimedia. The HDBaseT technology is designed for simple digital connections between remote displays and HD video components. With the creation of 5Play™, the solution makes a digital connection over one 100m CAT5e/6 cable and can be used in a home or commercial setting to connect a number of devices. There are no unique connector or cable requirements for 5Play that differ from existing Ethernet LAN products which enables the technology to be distinctive and easy to use. HDBaseT can use an established Ethernet connection, CAT5e/6 LAN cables, RJ45 jacks and in-wall connectors, to fully function within a facility. “As a member of the HDBaseT Alliance, Hitachi Cable America contributes to the promotion and advancement of the HDBaseT standard, and brings its long-standing expertise to the benefit of all of our members. With more than 115 members now in the Alliance, Hitachi Cable America complements the ecosystem of products and solutions supporting the HDBaseT standard,” said Ariel Sobelman, President of the HDBaseT Alliance.
