A: The Noise Control Barrier™ used in our Category 6A Supra 10G-XE cable is a continuous non-conducting barrier that permits exceptional alien crosstalk performance as well as isolates the cable for from other ambient electronic noise. Discontinuous shields utilize metallic segments in their shield. These segments act as a type of shield. Though they have shown be offer good Alien Crosstalk performance, which is a test parameter in the relevant industry standard (ANSI/TIA-568-C.2) they have shown to not fare as well in environments with ambient electronic noise. Though not measured in industry tests, this noise is very capable of disrupting 10 Gigabit Ethernet data signals on Category 6A cables. Ambient noise can get through the gaps of the discontinuous shields and corrupt the signals traveling on the conducts therein.
