Proterial Cable America’s NanoCore® armored plenum fiber optic cables are flexible and easy to handle. In a loose-tube design, we use 250-micron fiber-optic strands, enabling a higher fiber count within a cable with a compact overall diameter, making it perfect for tight places and plenum spaces.
NanoCore® armored plenum-rated fiber optic cable is ideal for MPO/MTP®-style connectors when higher data rates are desired. Lightweight aluminum interlock armor is standard, eliminating the need for an inner duct or conduit and the install costs, making our plenum fiber optic cable an ideal intra-building cable solution. Proterial Cable America is proud to use Corning Optical Fiber as our standard optical fiber.

Armored NanoCore® micro distribution cable is our go-to fiber optic cable choice when you need a high fiber-count indoor plenum-rated backbone with added robustness from aluminum interlock armor. This plenum fiber is designed for dense runs in data centers, central offices, and campus premises where current or future data rates include 40 and 100 Gb/s, and where eliminating separate inner duct or conduit helps keep pathways cleaner and easier to manage.
Proterial Cable America offers NanoCore® armored plenum fiber with loose-tube subunits that typically contain 8, 12, or 16 color-coded fibers in 2 mm tubes, allowing high strand counts in a compact outside diameter. Catalog options cover multi-mode OM3, OM4, and single-mode OS2 fibers with 24 up to 144 strands, so you can match the count and fiber type to your data center, central office, or premise backbone design.
The aluminum interlock armor on NanoCore® armored plenum fiber cable provides an integral protective layer around the loose-tube core, eliminating the need for a separate inner duct or conduit in typical indoor plenum pathways. That simplifies routing in trays and overhead spaces, helps safeguard cables during pulls and moves, and still keeps construction flexible and easy to handle for high-density installations.
NanoCore® armored plenum fiber is an indoor plenum-rated cable with an OFCP rating and a flame-retardant thermoplastic outer jacket, making it suitable for intra-building plenum spaces that require high fire safety, such as return-air ceilings and similar areas defined by local codes. For outdoor runs or combined indoor/outdoor routes, Proterial Cable America also offers an indoor/outdoor armored, tight-buffered plenum fiber optic cable design. For projects that specifically require riser-rated or other construction, our team can recommend fiber optic products with more appropriate materials from our broader fiber portfolio.
NanoCore® Armored Plenum fiber optic cable is an indoor plenum cable (OFCP) with a flame-retardant thermoplastic jacket, not a low-smoke, zero-halogen design. If your project requires LSZH, Proterial Cable America offers LSZH options in other product families, including NYCTA-approved transit cables, hybrid and wireless solutions with LSZH jackets, and CMR-LSZH versions of certain copper premise and fiber products. LSZH constructions are engineered to limit smoke and halogen by-products, such as bromine, chlorine, fluorine, and iodine in a fire, thereby reducing toxic emissions. Our team can help you select LSZH-rated part numbers that align with your fire safety and code requirements.
Let’s bring your project to life with the high-performance cables you need to drive innovation and build a better future.
