To start, a patient has a probe placed on their body. The ultrasound machine generates electricity, which is then applied to an array of piezoelectric elements. This causes each element in the array to vibrate and emit high-frequency sound waves into the body. These sound waves bounce off various tissues and return to the piezo elements, where the machine collects the returning echoes.
The array allows for capturing detailed information from different angles, enhancing the accuracy of the data.
