Manchester, NH April, 2009 - Hitachi Cable America (HCA), a leading manufacturer of copper and fiber optic cables, is sampling its new Channel Matrix II™ Infiniband™ cable, designed to meet the low-latency and high-bandwidth needs of its Infiniband™ and supercomputing customers. The Channel Matrix II™ Infiniband™ cable is 30% smaller than the Channel Matrix I cable design, moves attenuation "suck out" above the 10 GHz mark and can be manufactured as a conventional PVC cable or a PVC-free, low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH) cable.

"We are excited to launch the beta phase of our Channel Matrix II™ cable. The new cable is smaller, more flexible and better suited for Infiniband™ QDR applications. We also expect calls for custom applications from the financial industry customers, predictive university researchers and mechanical engineering simulation designers", explains Joseph Iamartino, Director of New Business Development.

Channel Matrix II™ Infiniband™ cables fit well with conventional CX4 connectors, QSFP connectors, and CXP connectors, and can be configured in (2) pair, (4) pair and (12) pair configurations, capable of supporting:
